Methodology

This site aggregates and cites. It does not issue rulings, and no AI output on this page or any other is treated as a religious authority.

The five labels

Source hierarchy

  1. Primary certifier, regulatory, or original scholarly source (grade A).
  2. Named certifier educational guidance (grade B).
  3. Secondary aggregated references, always labelled as secondary (grade C).

A classification may not rest on a source that cannot be checked, lacks a citation trail, or contradicts primary evidence without attribution. Every record carries its source positions with quotes, access dates and grades; the source registry lists them all.

What "verified" means here

"Verified" means the cited evidence supports the classification as stated — not that Muttoo has independently audited any factory. The 224 plain E-number entries rest on the Halal Authority India reference table, cross-checked against the IFANCA Halal Shopper's Guide; the high-traffic entries carry multiple named positions.

Review and monitoring

Each record shows its last-verified date. An automated monitor checks the source registry for changes on a schedule and opens a review ticket when a source changes — a human reviews every proposed change before anything on this site is republished.
