The source registry
Every classification on this site traces to one of these 52 sources. We grade what we cite, and we label secondary references as secondary.
How grading works
- Grade A — primary certifier, regulator, or original scholarly body (IFANCA, Darul Iftaa Chicago, Dar al-Ifta al-Misriyyah, IslamQA).
- Grade B — named certifier educational guidance (Halal Authority India, American Halal Foundation, ISA, HalalMed).
- Grade C — secondary aggregated reference (HalalCodeCheck, HalalExpo, MuslimConsumerGroup). Useful for surveying positions; always labelled, never the sole basis for a "verified" classification.
